“This body of work has most recently moved to the intersection of painting, sculpture and drawing. What remains is most certainly not word or idea generated, it is a kind of spiritual “residue” from the process. While remaining profane it aspires to provide a sublimity, a connection to a unearthly, the divine. While cognizant of my notable predecessors, namely Newman, Rothko and Reinhart and most recently Still (After a revelatory visit to Denver), I am fully aware that this area of exploration could have been exhausted but perhaps it is a subject and a pursuit that can never fully reveal itself, like divinity itself the layers of the onion continue to reveal only other layers.

The need to create is inherent in all of us, the need to say I am here. And maybe the most important is that need to know that there is something greater than ourselves.”
